The Institute for Market Transformation (IMT) seeks a dynamic, outgoing, results-oriented individual to lead our new Corporate Relations program. You will work closely with the growing number of corporations interested in IMT’s work and with IMT program staff to support our work at the forefront of market-based solutions to today’s climate and energy challenges. This individual serves as the point of contact for corporate partners, leading IMT’s efforts in corporate prospecting, sponsorship, membership and related support. You will also support the IMT Executive Director in corporate outreach and related meetings and travel. The position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

Responsibilities

·         Research and identify prospective partners who are aligned with the organization’s mission and programs. Work with Program Directors to identify specific prospects through existing connections and other sources, and match program goals with opportunities.

·         Cultivate and manage corporate relationships through dedicated sponsorship activities including events and projects, as well as general corporate contributions for IMT.

·         Staff IMT’s Executive Director; prepare and present briefing materials; and assist with the stewardship of the Executive Director’s corporate outreach, travel and meetings.

·         Work with Team Leaders to research conferences and events for prospective IMT participation; prepare and debrief staff.

·         Maintain corporate funding, partnership, conference and event records and a calendar of related deadlines and reports.

·         Work with IMT finance staff to coordinate budget development and financial reports.

·         Contribute to other priority projects as needed. 

Qualifications and Skills

·         Minimum of four years of experience in corporate fundraising or business development.

·         Outstanding interpersonal, organization and time management skills.

·         Excellent writing, editing, presentation and communications skills.

·         Experience communicating the value of policy, research, and market-facing programs to a corporate audience.

·         Ability to take initiative, to manage multiple projects, and to prioritize effectively.

·         Strong attention to detail.

·         Ability to work in open office environment.

·         Enthusiasm, dedication, sense of humor, and drive to succeed.

·         Bachelor’s degree in relevant field. 

Position Description

This is a Manager level position. IMT Managers demonstrate:

 

  • Responsibility for a program area, including planning, reporting, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met.
  • Ability to oversee and meet multiple project budgets.
  • Strong research, written and oral communication skills.
  • Leadership regarding strategic direction of a program area.
  • May manage IMT staff directly or coordinate staff across the organization to accomplish program or project goals.

Salary is commensurate with experience.
