            Scott Circle is looking for a talented Senior Manager to join their team. 

1         Project/position overview:

The Senior Manager is a senior member of Scott Circle’s growing team of professionals.  S/he independently manages and performs client project work by developing and directing objectives, strategies, and implementation of public relations projects for clients.  The Senior Manager diligently follows the news in order to identify potential and current client needs. In order to be successful, the Senior Manager must juggle multiple tasks at once and work independently and collaboratively to meet expectations and deadlines. This position will recognize emerging and/or unexpected needs quickly and to address them appropriately and professionally, either independently or with colleagues.    

 

2         Specific roles and responsibilities:

·         Lead projects with little or no supervision;

  • Think strategically about client needs and proactively recommend plans and solutions to address them;

·         Work directly with clients to manage their account needs;

·         Ability to cultivate new business and/or pitch potential clients;

·         Daily interaction with media outlets to discuss upcoming story ideas;

·         Daily account management activity such as agendas, activity reports, media monitoring;

·         Manage social media campaigns for clients;

·         Attend and facilitate media interviews as needed;

·         Research, write and develop new business proposals and presentations in conjunction with the Vice President and President;

·         Create targeted media lists for broadcast, radio, print and online outlets;

·         Proactively pitch media outlets, including broadcast, print, radio and online media

·         Write and edit media materials such as media alerts, fact sheets, bios and case studies;

·         Monitor budgets and meet targets;

·         Responsible for supervising and professionally developing junior-level staff;

·         Various administrative duties

5         Qualifications:  (i.e. Education, Certifications, Experience Level)

·         B.A. or B.S.

·         5 – 7 years of progressively responsible public relations professional experience

·         Established relationships with members of the media.

·         A consistent record of success in placing media stories with national and local outlets along with prominent bloggers.

·         Supervisory experience of junior staff in a PR setting.

·         Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and general Internet and e-mail.

·         Excellent communications skills (written, verbal and interpersonal).

·         Must be highly organized, detail oriented, motivated and able to “hit the ground running.”
