Genocide Intervention Network and Save Darfur Coalition, both created in response to atrocities in the Darfur region of Sudan, merged in November 2010 to create the world's largest anti-genocide organization. Genocide Intervention Network/Save Darfur Coalition (GI-NET/SDC) is seeking a proven, dynamic and visionary President with a deep commitment to stopping and preventing genocide. GI-NET/SDC seeks an individual with a track record of setting and reaching ambitious goals.

GI-NET/SDC mobilizes over 800,000 committed activists globally, an unparalleled nationwide student movement, and a network of institutional investors with over $700 billion in assets under management. At present, GI-NET/SDC is focused on ending atrocities and helping to build peace in Sudan, while laying the groundwork for its genocide prevention campaign. The President will grow the organization and enhance its profile, but most importantly he or she will shape the work of its staff, constituencies and partners to create a world without large-scale targeting of civilians. The President will report directly to the Board of Directors and will hire a second-in-command to help manage the organization and its staff.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

· Establish the long-term vision for the organization;

· Serve as primary spokesperson and "external face" of the organization;

· Drive fundraising efforts and secure resources for organizational growth;

· Serve as primary staff liaison to the Board of Directors; and

· Work with senior staff to:

a) make key program and policy decisions;

b) ensure a positive, open, and effective organizational culture;

c) develop and secure GI-NET/SDC's annual budget including developing relationships with major donors and foundations;

d) cultivate and maintain GI-NET/SDC's profile and external relationships in the broader human rights, advocacy, NGO, business, and faith-based communities; and

e) recruit, inspire and learn from our various constituencies and partners.

Qualifications include:

* A deep, personal commitment to GI-NET/SDC's mission of empowering individuals and communities with the tools to prevent and stop genocide;

* High-level management experience including demonstrated success in growing an organization and implementing effective organizational systems;

* A highly respected leader with a minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience in the field of human rights, advocacy, policy, membership, and/or organizational management, preferably with exposure to the non-profit sector and new media technologies;

* Highly effective leadership and consensus building skills with the ability to empower and motivate staff, volunteers, and Board members behind a common passion and sense of mission;

* Successful track record of fundraising with individual major donors and foundations;

* Exceptional written and oral communication skills, preferably including media experience as a public representative for a large organization and experience in brand marketing;

* Enthusiasm and passion for being part of a global movement, and interested and sensitive to working with people from other countries, cultures and a broad range of faiths;

* A demonstrated commitment to cultural, racial and ethnic diversity;

* Superior strategic intellect, courage, and judgment; and

* A high level of energy, grace, patience, and a healthy sense of humor.
