The BlueGreen Alliance is an innovative national partnership between eight national labor unions and four national environmental organizations. We also work closely with businesses in the clean energy economy as well as with allies in the environmental justice community. BGA is focused on promoting programs and policies that result in the development of the clean energy and green economy with
a special emphasis on:
Climate change solutions that create quality jobs across several sectors, including
scaling up renewables, energy efficiency, clean energy manufacturing and sustainable transportation
the promotion of strong, effective regulatory policy; green chemistry; safe food;
green schools and other sustainable practices that impact workplaces and communities

Job Summary:
BGA seeks a National Campaign Director to work in its Washington, DC headquarters.
The National Campaign director will lead and coordinate BGA's field staff, grassroots field
leaders and state coalitions in twenty states; manage the field organizing elements of
BGA's advocacy and issue education programs; and develop and drive a strategy to
grow our presence in ten or more additional states. The National Campaign
Director reports to the Executive Director and works closely with staff in the
legislative, communications and development departments, as well as other BGA staff.
The Campaign Director will also work closely with the field directors of programs of BGA's partner organizations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
In collaboration with BGA partners and staff and other key players, develop national
and state‐specific campaign plans that help advance the clean energy and green
economy.
Manage and direct the work of several field staff people, and develop a cohesive
management approach that supports organizers in effectively implementing state work plans.
Work with the legislative, communications and development teams to identify
opportunities for policy and issue‐based advocacy and education, and create field
and communications strategies that are cohesive and complementary.
Work with national partners to develop and drive a plan to create BlueGreen
Alliance coalitions in at least ten additional states.
Work closely with BGA's Good Jobs, Green Jobs conference staff to both build
diverse constituency participation our annual conference as well as to integrate
these constituencies and allies into our ongoing field work.
Coordinate field work with other coalition efforts and manage relationships and
participation in those coalitions.
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelors degree
6‐8 years experience developing and driving legislative or issue‐based field
campaigns in multiple states is required. Experience with political field campaigns is
a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required and must also be
comfortable and skilled in doing public presentations.
Strong managerial skills, including interpersonal skills, and ability to maintain
productive working relationships remotely
Familiarity and previous experience working with labor unions and the
environmental movement is preferred
Familiarity with clean energy, climate change and other environmental issues is a plus
