The Institute for Market Transformation (IMT) seeks an accomplished Grants Manager to lead our proposal activities with foundation and corporate donors. You will work closely with IMT’s established foundation donors and a growing number of new foundation, government, and corporate funders. The Grants Manager works in partnership with IMT’s program teams, leading grant-related prospecting, proposal writing, stewardship, and reporting. This position is vital to maintaining IMT’s position at the forefront of market-based solutions to today’s climate and energy challenges. The position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Responsibilities

  • Identify prospective foundations aligned with the organization’s mission and programs. Will include prospecting through databases and online sources, and matching program goals with grant opportunities
  • Manage the grant development cycle for foundation grant applications. Process will include drafting letters of intent and grant proposals, framing and editing proposals, developing presentations, managing correspondence, and writing interim and final reports, as appropriate
  • Work with IMT finance staff to coordinate budget development and grant financial reporting
  • In conjunction with IMT communications team, work to maintain IMT communications  and outreach collateral
  • Maintain grant records and manage the delivery of deadlines and reports
  • Cultivate and manage new funder relationships
  • Contribute to other priority projects as needed

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of four years of experience in successful grant writing, editing, and management
  • Superior writing, editing and communications skills
  • Experience communicating the value of policy, research, and market-facing programs
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills
  • Ability to take initiative, to manage multiple projects, and to prioritize effectively
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in open office environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field

Position Description

This is a Manager-level position. IMT Managers demonstrate:

  • Responsibility for a program area, including planning, reporting, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met
  • Ability to oversee and meet multiple project budgets
  • Strong research, written and oral communication skills
  • Leadership regarding strategic direction of a program area
  • May manage IMT staff directly or coordinate staff across the organization to accomplish program or project goals

Salary is commensurate with experience.
