The American Clean Skies Foundation (ACSF) has an immediate opening for a proven policy leader/professional to direct the Foundation's program for shifting at least 20% of the federal government's $150 billion annual spending on transportation services to vendors using alternative fuel vehicles (e.g., natural gas, electric, biofuels). This position requires business and leadership skills from the public or private sector, and a demonstrated passion for providing America with cleaner, domestic transportation options. The successful candidate is likely to have at least 7-10 years job experience; an advanced degree (MA, MBA, JD); job-based knowledge of federal, state or corporate procurement practices; familiarity with the trucking/package delivery industry; familiarity with government and private sector sustainability programs; and a track record of success in a relevant government program area or business. Director will report directly to the CEO of ACSF and will manage outside consultants and two in-house staff.

Salary is very competitive ($140k plus depending on experience) and includes full benefits. ACSF is an equal opportunity employer.

The Foundation advances its mission primarily by encouraging large scale fuel switching in the electric power sector based on innovative regulatory and business proposals; and promoting alternative fuel vehicles, especially natural gas powered vehicles, using public policy tools and demonstration projects. Both of these program initiatives seek to catalyze change through carefully targeted government interventions and entrepreneurial activity. ACSF also supports a wide range of educational programs, including white papers, conferences, workshops, films, and web sites.
