Catholics for Choice is seeking an experienced advocacy professional to join our international program. The Associate/Senior Associate will work closely with two international program staff and the executive leadership to: educate the public, policymakers and the media about Catholic support for women's autonomy in reproductive health decisions; foster and sustain relationships with advocates and leaders in Latin America, Asia, sub-Saharan Africa and Europe; and help build a stronger community of advocates worldwide to diminish the influence of religious extremism on public policies on women's health. The position is based in Washington, DC, and includes a significant amount of international travel.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field and three or more years of successful professional experience working on international advocacy projects advancing reproductive health and rights. S/he will possess excellent organizational and time-management skills; have a strong understanding of the global landscape on reproductive health, human rights, gender equity and development; be culturally sensitive and savvy at managing relationships with diverse partners abroad; show good judgment, discretion, diplomacy and an open-minded spirit; demonstrate impeccable verbal and written communication and have an unwavering support for a woman's right to choose. Knowledge of Catholicism, experience working in international settings and Spanish language proficiency are desired. Field experience and grant management skills are a plus. Salary and seniority will be dependent on knowledge, skills and experience.
