American Bridge 21st Century is a progressive research and communications organization committed to holding Republicans accountable for their words and actions and helping the public ascertain when Republican candidates are pretending to be something they’re not.

Our organization researches candidates’ records to ensure their rhetoric matches their voting records. We monitor public appearances to prevent the cynical pandering that results in a candidate taking different positions depending on the audience they are in front of. 

The Campaign Director is the number-two position in the organization and reports directly to its President. The Campaign Director will work with the President to design a long-term electoral and issue-based strategy that ensures the organization maximizes its impact through the use of its core competencies and content.

 

Responsibilities include:

Management

§  Implementing the long-term strategic plan for research, tracking & communications,

§  Day-to-day management of the organization’s senior staff,

§  Prioritizing the organization’s short and long-term focus and work flow, and

§  Budget oversight of approved research, tracking & communications projects.

Strategy

§  Developing and implementing tactics to help elect targeted candidates,

§  Developing and implementing tactics to educate citizens on issue-based campaigns,

§  Generating ideas that maximize the impact of the organization’s core materials, and

§  Lead coordinator with allies on strategic use of organization’s materials and services.

Development

§  Assist President in educating potential investors on importance of organization’s work, and

§  Assist President in briefing key stakeholders on progress of organization’s initiatives.

 

Qualifications include:

 

·         Proven experience managing a large staff,

·         Strong experience managing program priorities,

·         Excellent written and verbal communications and strong research skills,

·         Keen understanding of political communications,

·         Extensive electoral or issue campaign experience, experience working for a PAC is a plus,

·         Successful fundraising experience,

·         Comfortable in a fast-paced environment,

·         A keen political mind, and ability to be creative, strategic, and realistic; and

·         A passion for “keeping them honest.”
