We are seeking a Research Associate who is a skilled researcher and writer to help create top-notch content for our clients in all of these platforms.

Job Description

The Research Associate position offers a great opportunity to break into a leading, national communications firm and assist in conducting quantitative and qualitative research designed to develop motivating messages and engaging communications. The research department conducts public opinion, market, stakeholder, and consumer research. Hattaway Communications offers an exciting, fast-paced environment and we are looking for a strong, driven team player to join our team.

Responsibilities include:

 Writing and developing research reports to present to clients.

 Produce high quality background research on domestic and international issues.

 Manage interview and focus group research including: assisting in developing discussion guides and surveys, schedule interviews, liaise with recruitment centers, and moderate focus groups and interviews.

 Assist in the design and execution of quantitative and qualitative research to support client messaging and communications.

 Draft persuasive messages and communications strategies.

 Conduct content analysis on media and websites to develop data sets and conduct data analysis.

 Manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines, producing high-quality work, and maintaining a positive attitude.

 Interact professionally with clients and subcontractors, exhibiting good interpersonal and presentation skills.

 Collaborate with a team of researchers, information designers and communications professionals in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

 Contribute to the firm's growth, working with leadership team on business development and planning tasks.

 Internalize and promote the firm's mission and purpose, demonstrating an interest in international, political and/or social issues.

 Partake in job growth opportunities such as mentoring and external training.

Qualifications include:

 A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience utilizing research methodologies in an academic institution, polling firm, or research firm.

 Experience working with organizations in advocacy, government, politics, philanthropy, or marketing.

 Qualitative research and analytical skills, as they apply to informing message development.

 Excellent writing and oral communications skills.

 Proven ability to manage projects from beginning to end, meeting high-quality standards, with strict adherence to deadlines.

 Experience working with clients is a plus.

 Creativity, a sense of humor and a strong grasp of what is compelling and newsworthy content.

 Deep interest in domestic and international policy issues with a desire to grow with a dynamic firm.
